Loratadine is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of the natural chemical histamine in the body. It is commonly used to treat the following conditions:

1. Allergy Symptoms:

   • Sneezing
   • Runny nose
   • Watery eyes
   • Itching
   • Hives
   • Skin rash
   • Hay fever
   • Other cold or allergy symptoms

2. Chronic Skin Reactions:

   • Loratadine is also used to treat skin hives and itching in people with chronic skin reactions.

Warnings:

• Do not take loratadine if you are allergic to loratadine or to desloratadine (Clarinex).
• Inform your healthcare providers about all your medical conditions and allergies.
• Some chewable dosage forms of loratadine may contain phenylalanine, so consult your doctor if you have phenylketonuria (PKU).
• If you have liver or kidney disease, discuss with your doctor before using loratadine.
• Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should consult a doctor before using loratadine.
• Do not give loratadine to a child younger than 2 years old without medical advice.

Dosage Instructions:

• Take loratadine exactly as directed on the label or as prescribed by your doctor.
• It is usually taken once per day.
• Do not crush, chew, or break the regular tablet; swallow it whole.
• Measure liquid medicine with the dosing syringe provided or a special dose-measuring spoon or medicine cup.
